On January 28th, Form 4 went into town to visit “The Little Museum of Dublin.” This place is also referred to as the ‘People’s Museum.’ The exhibition tells the story of Dublin in the 20th century with artefacts donated by the public.
Form Four were introduced to the history of the city through a brilliant guided tour. The whole class was fascinated by the remarkable changes that occurred over the last 100 years, from the visit of Queen Victoria to the global success of U2.
From a view out of the front room on to St. Stephen’s Green, the children were told of the trenches dug in the park by the rebels in Easter 1916.
Each room was packed with old prints and quaint toys. We are going to be doing a project on favourite toys.
