A Welcome Return by Form Five

Coming back to school is always a little daunting. One very strange thing is that the classroom is different and even though there are nice posters up, the walls seem bare without our own work.

So over the last two weeks we in Form Five have worked really hard to create colourful sandpaper prints, watercolour paintings and origami bookmarks to brighten our walls and make the room feel like our home. We are amazed at how quickly this transformation has happened and are proud of our hard work. However this could not have happened so quickly without the help of Julia.

Julia is a German student from Koblenz, who is training to be a teacher. To improve her English she decided to come to Ireland and work in a school. Last year she spent two months in RJS helping out in every class. She loved it so much that she decided to come back this September for another two months. It is because of Julia’s hard work: helping to prepare materials, mount finished pieces and giving us a hand when we found things difficult, that our room is now our own .

A big thank you, Julia, from Form Five.
