We have been learning about the polar bear in class. We discovered that polar bears are the largest of all bears and that they live on the ice that covers the Arctic Circle. They are powerful swimmers that often hunt under the ice. Unfortunately these beautiful bears are in danger of extinction, as the ice around the Arctic Circle is melting. Some scientists believe that there will be no more polar bears in the wild within the next one hundred years if global warming is not stopped.
