“The Iron Man came to the top of a cliff”… That was the first sentence in the story of The Iron Man. Form Four read the story of ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. It tells the story of an iron robot who saves the world in the most unlikely way. We did a lot of work in English about the characters, illustrations and plot. We also shared our opinions and had a lot of discussions.
In science lessons we learnt about electricity and how to construct a circuit. In art we used boxes and other junk to make big Iron Man models. We covered them in tinfoil and added details. Next we used electrical circuits to make the eyes light up, buzzers beep and motors spin.
Our class performed the story to music in an assembly to the school. We also showed our models and explained how they work. All of us had great fun making our models and we can’t wait to take them out for the Exhibition.
