On Wednesday 18th April Form Four went to The Botanic Gardens. We took the Dublin bus to Glasnevin. It took about 45 minutes. When we got there we had a little snack and we were welcomed by our tour guides June and Leo.
First, we went to the children’s garden. We split into two groups. One group went inside to make newspaper pots and plant seeds. The other group had a tour of the garden and saw tadpoles, sadly there were no frogs. We also held a tiger worm. After our activities, the whole class went on a tour. We went to the big greenhouse. First, we saw the cacti; we were warned not to touch any cacti. Next, we went to the rainforest house and it was very humid in the rainforest. There were tree like plants of all sizes and colours. There were grids in the floor with steam coming out of them!
Next, we went for a walk through the gardens to the bandstand. We stopped there for lunch. After lunch, we continued our walk. We saw bridges, sculptures and all sorts of trees and plants. We had a game of tag in the rose garden. That was great fun. At the end of the day, we went into the sensory garden. There was a pond with hundreds of tadpoles!
Finally, we got back on the bus. We had a great day!
