In Form Three we have been learning about the artist Piet Mondrian. Mondrian was a Dutch artist, who changed the way many people think about art. Mondrian was a very important painter of modern abstract art in the 20th century. In abstract art, little or no attempt is made to represent images realistically and objects are often simplified or distorted.
We enjoyed learning about Mondrian. We designed Lego men following Mondrian’s style. We used paper, a ruler and the primary colours to create our pieces. It was very enjoyable and some of us explored this further by building Lego Mondrian designs and an actual canvas painting!
We shared our Mondrian facts in our class assembly. We hope you enjoy our photos of this special assembly. Thank you.
