23rd March 2020
Good morning Friends,
We are very excited to launch our online classroom through Seesaw today. If you have not already done so, please send permission to your class teachers. You can download the Seesaw app here.
Your teacher will send you a code to join your class. Here is a short video to tell you about Seesaw and how it works.
We hope that the children will enjoy this new learning platform. There is no pressure to complete all activities as we are very conscious that some parents may be working from home, some of you will prefer to just work through the textbooks and some of you may prefer the children don’t have too much screen time. This virtual classroom was set up to create a link between the teachers and the children, to facilitate further learning, to support parents and to keep our community active.
Stay safe. Stay well.

Home Is Where the Art Is
Each week, children may participate in our art challenge. Children can draw or paint a picture, use play-doh, lego or anything you can find at home in line with the following themes. Let your imagination and creativity go wild!
Parents can scan or take a photo of their child’s creation and email it to the Principal. A slideshow of pictures will be displayed on the website each Friday. We will add themes each week, depending on the duration of school closures.
Week 1: 16th – 20th March: St. Patrick’s Day 2020
Week 2: 23rd – 27th March: Design your dream house!
Week 1 Photos – St. Patrick’s Day 2020
Well done to all the children who I know are working really hard at home. I’ve seen some very creative and wonderful photos including drawings, paintings, clay, woodwork and project work to name a few. Keep up the great work! Well done to mums and dads too!
Children are invited to read a book (or more) each week and write a review or draw a picture (depending on the age of the child). This review can be emailed to your class teacher. E-books can be downloaded from oxfordowl.co.uk. You can set up a free account and go to the relevant section. These are merely suggestions. Children can use their own books from home.
Classes can log in using the following usernames and the password which will be sent to you directly.
Why not pick one of these drawings and try to copy it each day. You will be surprised at how you can make fantastic pictures from letters and numbers. Take a photo and send to Mrs. Kalisa to upload to our Gallery.
Many companies are now offering free access to their resources to support schools and families during this crisis. Resources will be added to this list from time to time.

Instead of having the news on in the background during the day, why not put on one of these suggestions and have a discussion with the children. I hope you enjoy these pieces!
Can they identify the instruments?
What animals may the instruments represent?
What is the mood of the piece? (Happy/Sad)
