We are delighted to announce that RJS has been awarded an Amber Flag. The Amber Flag a Pieta initiative. It enables schools and youth groups across the country to raise awareness of the stigmas which exist in their environments, and the stressors on the mental and emotional wellbeing of those within them.
RJS has worked incredibly hard this year to create a healthy, inclusive environment that supports mental wellbeing. Our bi-weekly Amber Flag meetings helped children be the voice of the school; explaining what they loved about the school and what could be done to make it even better. Through other events like Mental Health Awareness Day, Friendship Week, Family Day and many more, it was fed back that RJS went above and beyond to attain this award. What a great achievement for the school! A special thanks to Ms Hallows for leading this initiative and all the pupils and staff involved for making it come to life.
